Digital method (most banks)
- Log in to Net / Mobile banking.
- Menu ► Services / Requests → Nomination (wording varies by bank).
- Select the account / FD → add or change nominee & % share.
- Confirm with OTP and save the acknowledgement.
Branch / paper method
- Ask for Form DA‑1 (new nomination), DA‑2 (variation), or DA‑3 (acknowledgement).
- Fill details; all account holders must sign for joint accounts.
- Submit at any branch and collect a stamped acknowledgement.
Download forms (standard paper route)
- These DA forms follow the Banking Companies (Nomination) Rules, 1985 and are widely accepted. If your bank provides its own version, use that copy—it’s functionally the same.
Notes:
- Joint accounts: all holders must sign for add/change/cancel.
- FDs: some banks require nomination per deposit unless they map one nominee to multiple FDs.
- A nominee is a trustee for legal heirs—your will/succession rules still govern final ownership.
